The Biggest Color Secret You’ll Want to Know

Color is one of the first things we notice about a room.  Color speaks to us and moves us to particular behaviors.  Marketers know that the right color in the right place will make us stay longer, buy more, or leave sooner.   Today’s decorating shows will tell your clients that wall color is the one thing that will give you the biggest bang for your buck but  your clients will usually get it all wrong and not know the biggest secret to getting it right:  Choose The Paint Color Last.

All the colors in the room must work together in order to have that Wow effect.  Selecting a color scheme is primary, but settling on a paint color takes time, testing and training to get it right.

Everything in the room must be considered, including the lighting and time of day the clients will be in the room.  All the colors of a room work together to create an entire picture, as one thing changes, such as lighting, time of day, new window treatments or other colors, it will change how everything else looks and is perceived as new or old, fresh or dingy.

If you leave the selection of wall color to chance, it can actually make her new window treatments and look dingy and dull.  For instance, a bright, white-based wall color will work against you if the tones in your fabrics are muted and vice versa.  However, if you understand how color works, you can select the perfect color and often it will be one the client has never thought of but will love to live with, because everything looks so much better.

Paint is also the ONE most customizable product you will find.  Paint can be matched to anything, and be made to compliment any fabric or stain color.  Harmonizing is what it is all about and learning how colors work together, how undertones dictate whether a color will “work” or not, is not hard once you know the tricks.

S.Trask Vender promptly called and made appointment to come to home to take measurements for shades. Showed up exactly on time and on day promised. Took measurements and told me they would be ordered and should arrive in about 2 weeks. Called just one week after measurements were taken and said shades were ready to hang. Came out next day to hang them. They fit perfectly and look very nice. He cleaned up any mess from installation and disposed of my old shades. Was able to pay for balance with my master card which is a feature I always look for.

He made suggestions and was very patient with me while deciding fabrics/ design. He installed all of the products (blinds, shutters, and drapes) very well.
