Motorized Wood Blinds

Wood blinds are made of either Basswood, or Ramin wood. They are great sun shields for the room. They are also decorative in nature, adding charm and elegance to the interiors. Motorized wood blinds have the additional feature of motorized controls. This is an improved version of the original blinds. It is more of a comfort feature than an inherent one.

Motorized wood blinds are battery operated blinds. They are user friendly and help the individual to operate the blind from any position in the room. The person has to press a button, to adjust the slats and make them open, close or simply adjust them.

Most of the manufacturers of motorized wood blinds provide an internal limit, which protects both, the motor as well as the slats, from damage. A satellite- receiving eye is provided for the blinds, which may be blocked by drapers, curtains or other decorative objects. In order to install a motorized wood blind, it is noted that there is no requirement of special hardware or wiring. They are easy to install and maintain.

Most plantation shutters are custom made and can be mounted to your window a number of ways. Generally, though, there are two choices: Inside mount on hanging strips and outside mount to frames. Shutter panels are typically not attached directly to a window with hinges but are instead attached to either hanging strips or frames. Both provide a surface for the shutter panels to mount to and both block light gaps, preventing direct sunlight from escaping around the edges of panels. However, frame mounting usually provides a more finished appearance. Frames have become the most popular option for mounting shutters.

Choosing the Right Plantation Shutters

Of all the window treatments you could buy for your home, only plantation shutters add real value to your home. Just ask a realtor. That’s not to say that all the other window treatments don’t add value; they certainly make your home more attractive and livable but they won’t necessarily add to the appraisal value. I guess it has something to do with the perceived longevity and permanency of shutters that distinguishes them from other blinds and shades.

This is not necessarily why you should choose plantation shutters for your home, it is just and added bonus to a classic choice. It is true that shutters are a long term choice as far as window treatments go. They are not the cheapest option and they are a little bit trickier to install then, say, a roller shade. And, they will, with normal care and maintenance, last you a good long time. They may even get passed down with the home.

S.Trask Vender promptly called and made appointment to come to home to take measurements for shades. Showed up exactly on time and on day promised. Took measurements and told me they would be ordered and should arrive in about 2 weeks. Called just one week after measurements were taken and said shades were ready to hang. Came out next day to hang them. They fit perfectly and look very nice. He cleaned up any mess from installation and disposed of my old shades. Was able to pay for balance with my master card which is a feature I always look for.
